Residential Home, 1895
608 S. Main Street

The full-wrap porch has stone columns supporting the classic pillars. The spindles are repeated on the upstairs north porch.

The yellow-colored brick, the porte-cochere and the round tower give it added distinction.

Residential Home, c. 1889
601 S. Main Street

The peaked roof with a ballroom (which resembled the house at 405 N. Main) burned off in 1920, and was replaced with the present overhanging roof. Senator Charles Fulton built this in the early 1900's.

His daughter, Susan Welty, wrote A Fair Field, a history of Fairfield (copies are in the Fairfield Public Library).
