Bridge over the BNSF Railroad tracks:
Construction is complete on this 246 foot-long bridge, which enables the Loop Trail to be extended from Walton Road to Chautauqua Park. The winning bid was submitted by Godbersen-Smith Construction Company from Ida Grove, IA.
Cedar View Trail Bridge:
Dedicated August 3, 2002, the 376' bridge over Cedar Creek is just west of Jefferson County Park. Contractor: Godbersen-Smith from Ida Grove, IA.
The Carl Zillman Bridge/Boardwalk at Lamson Woods:
The 80' replacement bridge was completed in July 2001. The 120' boardwalk extension to the Neff Wetlands was completed in October 2001. After waiting for another DNR permit and the moving of the dike, the additional 142' boardwalk section was completed in August 2002.
Trail Construction is entirely driven by funding at this point. Donations and/or HMST and LOST revenues will determine construction plans.
