More than 160 Community 1st Credit Union employees participated in several Columbus Day (October 12, 2015) community volunteer projects to coincide with International Credit Union Day. All-day projects were completed in Fairfield, Chariton, Grinnell and Albia in a first-time, "Putting the Community 1st" event.
In Fairfield, Loop Trail foot bridge steel-railings were dismantled and prepared for industrial painting (scroll down to see photos).
Also, a Chautauqua Park shelter house was painted, and city parks were cleaned of trash and weeds.
In Chariton, there was a painting project at Lucas County Health Center. And in Grinnell, city park playground areas and park trees were re-mulched.
C1st employees in Albia painted a concession stand building at the Monroe County Sports Complex, swept downtown alleys, stained a privacy fence at Lake Miami’s trap shooting range and picked up trash at Albia parks.
