Repairs to the Neff Wetlands Dike Trail
Scroll down for more photos, or return to the Lamson Woods Trail.

The dike overflowed during the Spring rains of 2008 and washed out part of the trail along the top of the dike. As a temporary repair the Iowa DOT filled the holes with mulch (see 1st 3 photos).

Floods came again in Sept 2008 (photos below).

In October 2008 permanent repairs were made to the dike and the trail (photos below).

Heavy rain in early September 2008 caused Crow Creek to overflow into the Neff Wetlands, overflowing the dike and covering the trail. Little damage was found after the water receded.

Heading east, beyond the Lamson Woods boardwalk, the trail on top of the dike is underwater. The photo above was taken at the same place.
